Pastor Terry Ray has been in the ministry for over 25 years. After serving in the US Army band at Fort Campbell Kentucky, Pastor Terry went to college at the University of Missouri in St. Louis to study music.
He took a job as a youth director at the Salvation Army in inner city St. Louis and learned then of God’s calling to the ministry. The Salvation Army in Kentucky Tennessee hired him as the Divisional Music Director where he developed a music conservatory.
After marrying his wife, Sharon, they entered seminary for The Salvation Army in Atlanta Georgia and began a 23 year ministry as ‘domestic missionaries’ serving communities and families from Washington DC to Minneapolis Mn!
As an officer (pastor) in The Salvation Army Pastor Terry and Sharon served as leaders with a passion for strengthening families and working with at risk youth, high school and college age students. They ran multiple TSA camp and conference centers that served between 3,000 – 5,000 students every summer.
Pastor Terry leads with a passion for people, a love for God’s word and a desire to be faithful to what God has called him to do. We are blessed to call him our Pastor!

Sharon holds a degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis on hearing impairment. She taught in the school system in Ft. Wayne Indiana and the Indiana School for the Deaf. As the only child of Salvation Army pastors, she knew God had called her to teach and she answered that call with her husband Terry when they entered the Training College of The Salvation Army in 1994. Sharon served in various communities with Terry throughout the Southeast states. Her gifts of teaching, creativity and desire to follow God’s plan for her created a dynamic ministry team that lead families to a closer relationship with God.
Sharon is a gifted teacher, but also leads with sensitivity and practical wisdom. She and Pastor Terry opened a new Family Center in Mississippi Gulf Coast, hiring 120 employees and creating a center that served over 1,700 members.
With a desire to minister to women and families in a culture that redefines both women and families, she speaks from experience with tenderness and a firm understanding of God’s word.
She listens to God in every area of her life and shares those experiences with those He brings to her in and outside of Living Word Church!
